We are looking for a Junior Copywriter who is passionate and inspired by the art of written language. What is a day in a life of a Junior Copywriter at theturnlab?

 

As a member of the creative team, you will collaborate with your account, interactive, creative, media and strategy colleagues to create inspiring content across various channels, including digital and social. With your excellent grasp of various writing styles and ability to express different and unique brand tones, you will spend your day writing persuasive content that achieves the objectives laid out in project briefs. Your eye for grammar and spelling will help you to produce quality content, and you may sometimes help out your team by proofreading or editing other writing to help perfect it. In summary, you will be responsible for:

  • Translating creative direction and briefs into engaging copy and content using an active and persuasive voice.
  • Maintaining a high standard of copy and content writing by incorporating constructive feedback.
  • Proofreading and editing copy and content while exercising a high level of quality control.
  • Writing clear, attractive, on-brand copy and content with a distinct voice to meet project requirements.
  • Researching and writing long-form content pieces, including native ads, articles and blogs.
  • Participating in strategic brainstorming sessions on briefs and campaign development & execution by proposing copy and content direction, concepts, ideas, etc.
  • Developing campaign concept ideation, and internal presentation of your ideas.

 

What value will you bring to our team?

 

You will have a college diploma or bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing or related field. With your 1 to 2 years of experience as a copy or content writer, you will bring with you a diverse portfolio of both long-form and short-form writing from within an agency or marketing environment – experience within the home builders and/or real estate industry (or an active interest in it) would be an asset. You can demonstrate your diverse range of writings skills, knowledge of SEO principles, and content marketing through your experience across various channels and platforms.  Additionally, you will have:

  • Knowledge of marketing, advertising and B2B sales principles.
  • Strong computer skills – specifically with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and take on volume, while maintaining quality.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, solid time management skills and self-motivated.
  • Solid communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Creative and out-of-the-box thinker who strives to achieve results and meet tight deadlines.
  • An independent worker who is also is seen as a collaborator and team player.
